What’s life really like in Sys Admin?

August 12, 2010

At Frontline, we know that being a Systems Administrator can be quite a demanding job, and that often, the role will differ from organisation to organisation, and industry to industry.

So to help raise standards and consistency across the industry, we’ve engaged an independent consulting firm, Bienalto, to conduct a nationwide survey of Australian IT workers. Once they’ve completed the survey, participants will receive a summary report so they can see how they compare with their peers.

So far, it’s been incredibly successful, with over 500 people taking part.

We’re asking sys admin staff, IT managers or administrators, network admin staff and systems engineers to get involved. And we’re targeting workers from a wide range of public and private organisations – including major Telco’s, Banks, Universities and Government Departments.

In return for completing the survey, participants will also have the chance to win an HTC smartphone or Solaris t-shirt.

The results will, we hope, drive a greater understanding and awareness of what it’s like to work in IT – and will also enable current IT workers to see how they compare with their peers.

If you work as a Systems Administrator and would like to participate, telnet to sysadminsurvey.com.au or learn more.
